The worst thing in this world is a monster, but what is a monster? Are monsters green, red or blue? Is a monster big? If someone saw a monster would they know it was a monster? Do monsters come from space or a mummy’s tomb? Can a monster eat a human’s soul or just their flesh? The monsters in the real world aren’t big they are not a strange color their not from space or even from a tomb. Monsters are walking the globe as normal human beings. The monsters in the real world are hard to discover. Monsters are manipulative. They have no empathy for anyone or anything. Monsters are willing to do anything they want. Monsters in the real world are so much worse then the monsters on movies and TV. A real monster has many traits but there are certain ones that every monster has, they are able to do monstrous things, they cause fear into the souls of others, they have no empathy for anything, and they are manipulative.

            Monsters in the real world are hard to find. A real monster is one someone doesn’t expect like Jeffery Dahmer or Ted Bundy. The ones who people think are great guys but unexpectedly turn out to be evil. Everyone could point out a monster if they were big and slimy but the real monsters are normal and could even be nice. The fear that can come from an unknown killer or rapist can make a monster even more dangerous then they already are. The unknown could make anyone a possible monster, the unknown is one of the biggest agents a monster can use to create fear in someone’s heart.

            The lack of empathy is another evil that a true monster has. Without empathy for something a person can be cruel and demonic. Empathy is the main difference between us and monsters. Humans can have empathy for others while monsters are unable to care for anyone or anything. A great example is the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep; this book is about a human bounty hunter searching for androids to eliminate them. Another major theme in the book is that all the animals are going extinct. The main process in which a bounty hunter will catch an android is the bounty hunter will check a possible androids empathy using a special test. If the test recipient is too slow on the test it shows that they are not human. Androids are unable to find real empathy in anything which becomes more apparent when an android murders a sheep with no remorse. The book is a insinuating that the android is a monster, and the main difference between a monster and a non-monster is the fact that monsters can not care for anything but themselves, while non-monsters care for more then just themselves. In the book the main character considers if what he is doing is morally the right thing to do because androids are so realistic but in the end the bounty hunter decides that androids are not human because they don’t care for others and that is the reason he decides to keep doing what he is doing.  The importance of empathy is to help humans actually care for something other then themselves. Monsters are ambivalent to all feelings of empathy, and do not even understand the feelings a person can get from caring for something other then themselves.

            A monster also has to have the ability to cause evil. Many people have fantasies of being powerful using illegal means but people usually do not act upon these primal needs because they could hurt someone or something. The willing people are able to kill without remorse. Even when people are able to do a crime and get away with it, a person that is not a monster will not do the crime. Monsters are able to hurt while people who are not monsters are not willing to hurt others.

            Monsters are usually very manipulative. One of the worst abilities a monster has is manipulation. A manipulative person is able to trick others into thinking what he is doing is alright. They take advantage of peoples weaknesses to hurt. Monsters are even able to make others do the hurting so the monsters wouldn’t get in trouble. Monsters manipulate to hurt people.

Charlie Manson is the perfect example of a monster. He manipulated people to kill and do drugs. He could manipulate people to do what he wanted. He was willing to use his manipulation to hurt others, and he was uncaring about his victims. Only a monster could carry all of these traits. Charlie Manson is the perfect example of the worst kind of monster.

            What is a monster without fear? The fear monsters cause is the main reason a monster is declared a monster. Monsters are called monsters because people are scared of them.  The fear is the most important aspect to a monster. The evil live off of others fear. Without fear a monster is nothing but an odd guy. All of a monsters power comes from fear.

            Monsters are very manipulative. They are willing to hurt others. They care for no one. Monsters are cruel and evil. Every monster is a little bit different but they still have the main components of fear, manipulation, willingness and lack of empathy. The cruelty a monster can posses is unmatched. Only a monster can posses all of these traits.  Monsters will always be around to bring fear into this world.
